Sick of iPhone Yet?

11:40 AM -- So the Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone gets unleashed on the world late this Friday. If you aren't sick of the sight of the sleek touch-screen phone by now, well... Give it a few days and get back to me.

In the next five days, I expect that every possible story angle -- from sociological to style pieces -- will be explored by the journalists and editors of this world. The iPhone is way beyond a cool gadget at this point; it is a bona fide cult item.

The only question that really matters at this point, however, is how much AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) will charge per month for service when users buy the $500 to $600 iPhone. The carrier isn't saying yet.

Still, I'm looking forward to articles about what to wear with your new iPhone. If you want to have your say on the new gadget why not vote in our poll? (See iPhone, U Buying?)

Dan is to hats what Will.I.Am is to ridiculous eyewear. Fedora, trilby, tam-o-shanter -- all have graced the Jones pate during his career as the go-to purveyor of mobile essentials.

But hey, Dan is so much more than 4G maps and state-of-the-art headgear. Before joining the Light Reading team in 2002 he was an award-winning cult hit on Broadway (with four 'Toni' awards, two 'Emma' gongs and a 'Brian' to his name) with his one-man show, "Dan Sings the Show Tunes."

His perfectly crafted blogs, falling under the "Jonestown" banner, have been compared to the works of Chekhov. But only by Dan.

He lives in Brooklyn with cats.
