HONG KONG -- Telstra Global has established a new Network-to-Network Interconnection (NNI) agreement with GTS, a leading Central and Eastern European telecommunications solutions and data center services provider, increasing Telstra’s footprint in Europe and providing greater connectivity and redundancy options for businesses in the region.

Bernadette Noujaim Baldwin, Telstra Global's Head of Connectivity and Platforms Portfolio, said GTS’ 27 Points of Presence (PoPs) across Central and Eastern Europe – including cities such as Prague, Bucharest, Warsaw, Bratislava and Budapest – will enhance Telstra Global’s existing IPVPN service coverage of more than 1,900 PoPs in 230 countries and territories worldwide.

“Telstra Global is focused on providing services to large multinational companies that are growing both across Europe and Asia. We’re seeing demand for data connectivity throughout Europe and into Asia continuing to grow as an increasing number of European businesses look abroad for long-term growth opportunities, which is why we are leveraging GTS’ deep network footprint to extend our service coverage.”

“When you combine our new Central and Eastern European sites with the PoPs we recently added in Western Europe – including Frankfurt, Paris and Amsterdam –Telstra is now well placed to help European organisations gain greater competitive advantage in their local operations and connect with growth opportunities in the Asian market too,” Ms Noujaim Baldwin said.

GTS’VP of International Services, Bruce Garrison said, “GTS’ network has best-in-class performance and coverage across Central and Eastern Europe. Our metropolitan footprint provides connectivity to over 26,000 enterprise office buildings and data centers across five countries: Poland, Czech, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.”

“Partnering with Telstra will combine the reach and capabilities of two global leaders in delivering solutions to both wholesale and multinational customers,” Mr Garrison concluded.
