DALLAS -- AT&T and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are working together to extend AT&T NetBond to AWS. Customers will have a new high performing and highly-secure choice to connect to AWS, including the ability to scale their network at the same rate as their enterprise-class applications running on the AWS Cloud.

AT&T NetBond dynamically adjusts the size of the pathway to the cloud as data needs change and puts the control of the highly-secure network in the hands of the customer. Customers will also benefit from an integrated design that can be quickly implemented.

With AT&T NetBond customers will be able to access business applications and information that are stored in AWS, bypassing the public Internet and the security risks associated with it. AT&T NetBond also improves performance by as much as 50 percent and can surpass the best experience on the Internet by as much as three times.

"When companies combine their strengths and resources to make the services easier to use, the customer wins," said Melanie Posey, research vice president at IDC. "The addition of AWS broadens AT&T's already expansive NetBond ecosystem and will give customers highly secure, reliable, and on-demand connections to another key public cloud service provider. This pairing of AT&T's VPN with AWS's leading cloud platform will likely serve as a game changer for enterprises, prompting accelerated adoption of cloud services."

Many businesses are choosing AT&T NetBond as their on-ramp to cloud. To date, there are a wide-range of customers using the service in industries such as health care, manufacturing, retail and government.

"Our customers want the computing power and cost-efficiency that cloud services deliver with the best security and performance," said Jon Summers, senior vice president, AT&T Mobile & Business Solutions. "AWS's extensive portfolio combined with AT&T NetBond offers them the best of both worlds. Our customers will have VPN performance, full cloud networking automation, and flexible and secure bandwidth when accessing AWS cloud services."

AT&T NetBond offers the following customer benefits:

  • Simple: Seamlessly works with existing AT&T VPN. Customers don't need to order or manage any other equipment or access lines.

    • Security: Isolates traffic going directly to cloud platforms using the AT&T private global network, providing more protections from security risks such as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

    • Savings: Network elasticity provides the right amount of bandwidth the customer needs. Companies can save as much as 60 percent on networking costs.

    • Performance: Improves performance by as much as 50 percent and can surpass the best experience on the Internet by as much as three times.

The new integrated solution is expected to be available next year.
