The accounting scandal at its Italian business unit has led to UK incumbent BT Group plc (NYSE: BT; London: BTA) changing auditors for the first time since it was privatized in 1984, the Daily Telegraph reports. Exiting the building are PwC's accountants; passing them on the way in is the team from KPMG. Earlier this year BT was forced to cut its earnings forecasts dramatically after 'fessing up that the financial shenanigans in Italy were going to prove much costlier than originally anticipated. Croatian operator T-Hrvatski Telekom , part of the broader Deutsche Telekom empire, has gone with Poland's Comarch SA as its OSS vendor of choice. The overall aim of the deal is to consolidate Hrvatski Telekom's OSS environment, which is built from a number of legacy systems, and to speed up service and product delivery.
Orange (NYSE: FTE) has joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation -- which describes itself as the "home of the industry-standard platform for cloud applications" -- as a Silver Member. Existing members include Google, HPE, IBM and VMware. Orange has had links with the Cloud Foundry since 2012, making various open source contributions to the platform's ecosystem. UK mobile operator Three UK has appointed Shadi Halliwell as its new chief marketing officer. Halliwell has more than 20 years in the telecom industry, though her most recent berth was at Harvey Nichols, the upmarket department store beloved of AbFab's Edina and Patsy.
