HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that its innovative Gigabit services architecture is the only platform being leveraged by service providers of all types to deliver innovative Gigabit services. From Tier 1 providers to disruptive new entrants to cable operators to utilities and municipalities to regional and rural carriers, service providers are deploying gigabit services to transform communities, rebuild urban centers, revitalize schools, stimulate economic growth and deliver innovative residential and business services all around the country. By the end of 2014, ADTRAN’s Gigabit services architecture will have been deployed to enable more than 50 Gigabit communities, quadrupling that number by the end of 2015. With populations ranging from 7,500 to more than one million, it’s clear that no community is too large or too small to realize the transformative benefits of Gigabit services.

“Over the past year ADTRAN has worked with hundreds of service providers to introduce Gigabit services as part of our vision to help reinvent communities around the country,” said Jay Wilson, senior vice president and general manager, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division. “ADTRAN’s Gigabit broadband platform will serve as the foundation for our partners’ community economic growth and development for years to come.”

ADTRAN delivers a comprehensive portfolio of products and technologies that make Gigabit services available for nearly any type of deployment in any size market. As service providers look to make decade-long network decisions to prepare for the next-generation of broadband, ADTRAN solutions deliver unmatched flexibility and scalability needed for Gigabit service acceleration. This includes helping service providers pave the way for the migration to next generation PON that will enable them to deliver multiple Gigabit services to both residential and business customers across a single network.

A CSP's digital transformation involves so much more than technology. Crucial – and often most challenging – is the cultural transformation that goes along with it. As Sigma's Chief Technology Officer, Catherine Michel has extensive experience with technology as she leads the company's entire product portfolio and strategy. But she's also no stranger to merging technology and culture, having taken a company — Tribold — from inception to acquisition (by Sigma in 2013), and she continues to advise service providers on how to drive their own transformations. This impressive female leader and vocal advocate for other women in the industry will join Women in Comms for a live radio show to discuss all things digital transformation, including the cultural transformation that goes along with it.
