LAS VEGAS -- Comptel Plus Spring 2014 -- Competitive service providers nationwide flocked to Vegas, many to escape unseasonably cold and snowy weather in their home venues. The usual interconnection deal-making took place, but this time against the backdrop of coming changes in the industry's structure, fuelled by the Federal Communications Commission's upcoming IP transition review.

Light Reading was there with an iPhone camera to bring this slightly blurry view of the proceedings.

Re: Debating the Future of Copper
From Spring flowers to solemn copper discussing men, to March kite flying and the gamblers, what a perfect place for Comptel 2014. Yep, it would be interesting to know if anything was solved and the FCC has been duly advised of industry recommendations.

Debating the Future of Copper
All five of those guys look pretty grumpy to me... Did they figure it all out, and notify the FCC they had the solution?

Live Digital Audio

A CSP's digital transformation involves so much more than technology. Crucial – and often most challenging – is the cultural transformation that goes along with it. As Sigma's Chief Technology Officer, Catherine Michel has extensive experience with technology as she leads the company's entire product portfolio and strategy. But she's also no stranger to merging technology and culture, having taken a company — Tribold — from inception to acquisition (by Sigma in 2013), and she continues to advise service providers on how to drive their own transformations. This impressive female leader and vocal advocate for other women in the industry will join Women in Comms for a live radio show to discuss all things digital transformation, including the cultural transformation that goes along with it.
