AUSTIN, TX – One Source Networks (OSN), a global voice and managed network services provider for large enterprises, today announced that its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking solution has earned Microsoft Lync 2013 qualification. The testing includes completion of advanced, optional SRTP and TLS support, which provides encryption of call signaling and media. OSN’s SIP Trunking solution utilizes the Sonus SBC 5210 Session Border Controller, which is certified for Microsoft Lync Server 2013.

Microsoft Lync is one of the most popular Unified Communications platforms today, deployed in the majority of Fortune 500 enterprises. It provides an integrated infrastructure where users can communicate seamlessly across a range of mediums – from chat to video to meetings. Ensuring that a service provider is Lync certified is critical for enterprises that want to take advantage of the full capabilities of the platform and require secure transmission of sensitive media, such as voice communications.

“One Source Networks is proud to be leading the industry in achieving these certifications,” said Ernest Cunningham, CEO of One Source Networks. “Our global enterprise customers are increasingly turning to Unified Communications to stay in touch, whether on their mobile device on the road or in their corporate headquarters. Enabling them with a Microsoft Lync-certified SIP solution guarantees interoperability, while TLS and SRTP ensure the security of communications that this market segment expects.”

These certifications follow OSN’s 2013 announcement of the expansion of its voice network, one of the largest global deployments of the Sonus SBC 5210 Session Border Controller, with four nodes in the U.S., plus nodes in Hong Kong, London and Bogotá. The company chose Sonus’ SBC because of its scalability and ability to support Unified Communications, aligning with OSN’s 2014 product development goals.
