SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM) today announced the commercial launch of ‘Smart Green Button,’ an innovative Bluetooth-based appcessory that allows users to issue emergency calls and send location information to pre-designated guardians by simply pushing a button.

SK Telecom has been focusing on developing new ways of enhancing customer’s convenience and benefits through expanded use of smartphones that has become an integral part of people’s daily lives. Against this backdrop, the company joined hands with Child Fund Korea to promote a powerful appcessory that can increase the safety of children, women and the vulnerable.

First showcased at Mobile World Congress 2014 held last month in Barcelona, Spain, Smart Green Button was well received by visitors and industry related professionals as it suggests a new way of protecting people (especially children and women) against possible crime and violence.
