July 13, 2012 |

PALO ALTO, Calif. and MADRID -- Apigee, the API company, and Telefónica Digital, the digital division of one of the world's leading integrated telecommunications operators, today announced that Telefónica Digital has selected Apigee as the partner for its API management platform, building on the work already done with the BlueVia console. The Apigee API platform will serve as the technology foundation for a variety of Telefónica Digital initiatives designed to expand the ecosystem of third-party applications built on its network-based services and assets.

"We are helping innovative businesses like Telefónica Digital execute on an API-based development model that has already been proven by the Internet titans," said Chet Kapoor, Apigee CEO. "Telefónica Digital is reaching out to new markets through developer ecosystems, and we look forward to working with them as their API programs continue to grow."
