RIP Paul Bonenfant

10:30 AM -- Simon Leopold, telecom equipment analyst at Morgan Keegan & Company Inc. , sent the following note to the firm's clients and media this morning:

  • It is with great sorrow that we announce Paul Bonenfant, my colleague, passed away yesterday. He suffered a heart attack over the weekend and was unable to recover.

Paul joined Morgan Keegan in 2005 and was a senior research analyst in the equity research department covering the technology sector. Paul and I began working together nearly 20 years ago at Bellcore [now Telcordia Technologies Inc. ] and headed in separate directions when Paul went to Lucent and later was at start-up Photuris before working together again five years ago.

We'll all remember Paul for his serious nature and sharp wit; he will surely be missed.
