Craig Matsumoto grew up in Silicon Valley, watching fruit orchards turn into Apple.  A Dodger fan by heritage, he's never loved the Giants but has grown to like them through watching players progress from the minor-league San Jose Giants.  He likes the Oakland A's more but has suspicions about their future ballpark.

In his spare time, Craig covers routers, Ethernet, chips, and optical components for Light Reading, which he joined in late 2002.  Before that, he spent seven years at EE Times, immersed in the semiconductor world and the then-booming optical networking market.  He's also written for the San Jose Business Journal and, if you must know, the defunct Fresno Business Journal.
