Phil Harvey joined Light Reading (http://www.lightreading.com/) in September 2000 and was named its Editor-in-Chief in January 2008. He's pretty much exactly like the Randy Quaid character in The Paper, except without all the one-liners, good writing, firearms, drinking, and razor-sharp news judgment.

Harvey is responsible for the daily editorial operations of Light Reading, and its freckled, bespectacled sister sites, Unstrung (http://www.unstrung.com/) and Cable Digital News (http://www.cabledigitalnews.com/). He was going to get one of those "The Buck Stops Here" coffee mugs - you know, the ones with the gold leafing and rubber stoppers on the bottom? - but those wretched weasels in accounting wouldn't let him expense it.

Before joining Light Reading, Harvey was based in San Mateo, Calif., writing for UPSIDE, Red Herring, and others. He's based in Fort Worth, Texas (where else?), Media Capital of the World, and has been published regionally (and infrequently) in D Magazine, Dallas CEO, and the Fort Worth Business Press.
