COPENHAGEN -- TDC, Denmark´s leading provider of communications solutions, has selected a Nortel(1) (TSX: NT)(NYSE: NT) advanced next-generation optical network solution to help meet the growing demand in Denmark and the Nordic region for bandwidth-hungry multimedia services such as IPTV, VoIP and enterprise Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

As a key supplier for TDC's next-generation network, Nortel will deploy its DWDM solution - Common Photonic Layer with Optical Multiservice Edge 6500 (OME6500) service platform - to enhance and expand the existing TDC network. The network currently covers the major metropolitan areas of the Nordic region. The solution also allows for expansion into TDC's European affiliates and provides a path to adaptive all-optical intelligent networking. This enhanced network functionality will give TDC added service capacity, flexibility and network agility while reducing operating costs.
