Optics Gone Wild

It seems that half the emails I receive at Light Reading these days are in Chinese. Must be all the coverage of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. . This email, albeit in English, from a rep at ZhonGe Tech caught my attention with a novel marketing claim:

  • We are glad to learn that your company deals in fiber optic products. We look forward to cooperate with your company. Our company (ZG) is a leading manufacturer of fiber optic product in China, we have wild range of fiber optic product.

So much for optical components being a tame business! The p.s. in this opto-spam mail kindly asked: "Please do me a favor to forward the letter to the purchasing dept if you are not in charge of sourcing."

Consider it done. Larry, are multimode couplers already on your shopping list?
