ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Redfern Integrated Optics, Inc. (RIO), a developer and manufacturer of low-cost, high-performance optical transmitters for telecommunications, data transmission and other markets, today announced that it will offer a live demonstration of its revolutionary technology this week at the 2006 OFC/NFOEC show in Anaheim, Calif. In booth #2373, RIO will showcase its directly-modulated 10Gbps External Cavity Laser (ECL) transmitter optical sub-assembly (TOSA) for long reach, 40km and 80km DWDM, in an SFP+ form factor transceiver module.

The SFP+ transceiver module consists of RIO’s 10Gbps 1550nm ECL TOSA and an AGC PIN/TIA receiver with linear output which allows the host based equalization for fiber impairments as well as longer PCB trace. The compactness and low power consumption of RIO’s TOSA enables such a small form factor transceiver to operate at 10Gbps up to 80km in both TDM and DWDM applications.

“RIO maintains a strong commitment to providing superior cost-effective, high-performance and reliable solutions to meet the small size, low power consumption, high optical power, and low cost requirements of the optical communications industry,” said Radu Barsan, president and CEO of RIO. “We’re excited to display RIO’s leadership in innovation within the industry arena of OFC/NFOEC 2006.”

A CSP's digital transformation involves so much more than technology. Crucial – and often most challenging – is the cultural transformation that goes along with it. As Sigma's Chief Technology Officer, Catherine Michel has extensive experience with technology as she leads the company's entire product portfolio and strategy. But she's also no stranger to merging technology and culture, having taken a company — Tribold — from inception to acquisition (by Sigma in 2013), and she continues to advise service providers on how to drive their own transformations. This impressive female leader and vocal advocate for other women in the industry will join Women in Comms for a live radio show to discuss all things digital transformation, including the cultural transformation that goes along with it.
