Carl Redfield has joined the Infinera board of directors

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Carl Redfield, a 30-year veteran of the technology industry, has joined the Infinera board of directors. Mr. Redfield brings his considerable operating experience to Infinera as the company continues to grow to capitalize on worldwide demand for Infinera’s unique optical networking solutions based on photonic integration.

Carl Redfield is Senior Vice President at Cisco Systems where he ran worldwide operations for over 10 years. At Cisco, Mr. Redfield oversaw the company’s growth from $400 million to over $20 billion in annual revenue and played a leadership role in the development of a virtual manufacturing model which has been widely emulated throughout the industry. Mr. Redfield also serves on the boards of Cincinnati Bell and VA Software. Prior to joining Cisco in 1993, Mr. Redfield was with Digital Equipment Corporation and Texas Instruments.

Mr. Redfield joins outside directors Mr. Alex Balkanski of Benchmark Ventures, Mr. Greg Galanos of Mobius Ventures, Mr. Ken Goldman, former CFO of Siebel Systems, Mr. Vinod Khosla of Kleiner, Perkins, Caulfield and Byers, Mr. Hugh Martin, former CEO of ONI Systems, Dr. Dan Maydan, President Emeritus of Applied Materials, and Dr. Pradeep Sindhu, founder and Chief Technology Officer of Juniper Networks.
