PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Sorrento Networks International, a global provider of metro optical access solutions which maximizes customers' network bandwidth, has been re-launched. This follows its 2014 acquisition by The Comtek Group.

Sorrento Networks has moved to a new Pleasanton, California location at 6920 Koll Center Parkway. The re-launched company will also provide multi-vendor support and repairs for a wide range of data networking and telecoms equipment. Multi-vendor support is a highly cost-effective and sustainable manufacturer business model which is becoming increasingly popular in the industry.

“This is an exciting time for Sorrento Networks to renew its focus on the critical and ever increasing demand for greater bandwidth,” said Askar Sheibani, CEO of The Comtek Group.

To address the rapidly increasing demand for higher levels of data transmission and migration to the cloud, Sorrento Networks is focused on maximizing bandwidth delivery at highly cost-effective prices. Leveraging its own product portfolio with its new "one-stop-shop" multi-vendor data networking solutions will provide an important service to the North American and European market.

Older copper cable systems become overloaded during peak Internet times, but fiber optic cables are able to transmit much higher bandwidths over greater distances compared to copper cables. Sorrento Networks represents the future of data network growth, providing robust multi-protocol infrastructure solutions. These offer from one to 80 wavelengths per optical fiber (the equivalent to 800 gigabits to eight terabits of bandwidth) and data rates from one to 100Gbps.

Sorrento Networks’ resilient and flexible DWDM fiber optic technology creates high quality scalable networks which reduce the risk of network outages. It offers an edge-to-regional CWDM and DWDM product portfolio to telecom carriers and enterprises throughout North America and Europe. Its GigaMux optical transport products add bandwidth to clients’ networks and transport mission-critical services and applications across the existing network infrastructure. This offers a highly cost-effective solution while protecting existing network investments. Data transport security is ensured by the incorporation of state-of-art encryption technology, meeting all NIST AES-256 specifications.
