SAN FRANCISCO -- OFC 2014 -- The show floor is not even open yet but this year's optical festival more commonly known as OFC is already in full swing with technical presentations and general networking at the Moscone Center here in San Francisco.

We have some coverage from (or related to) the show already -- see:

Light Reading checked in a day early and took a few snaps of the growing OFC crowds, plus some of the nearby sights and coffee emporiums.

Looks like you won't need either of those transport modes you snapped. With all that caffeine, you can just run everywhere.

And, I have some even better coffee waiting for you at The Big Telecom Event in Chicago in June. I know it's a bold statement, but it's even better than Blue Bottle!

Re: Truly over the edge...
That's right, but in my coffee -- the one that is in mid-drip -- there is five shots worth of coffee going into that one cup.

If I had taken five or six cups of that, I'd curently be about 10% of he way done on my "Around-the-world in 10 Days' run...

Truly over the edge...
Ray, that coffee must have been really strong... there are six coffee cups on image 11, not five.

I counted twice. Or I may be missing a finger.
