Gemfire PLCs Target 40G/100G

EDINBURGH, U.K. -- Today Gemfire, a leading player in integrated photonics, announced the release of two new PLC based product families, which address high growth segments of the optical networking market.

The products address opportunities in: high speed networks, operating at 40Gbps and 100Gbps, for both Telecoms and Datacoms applications; and high capacity access networks.

"Gemfire has established itself as a leader in the development and production of PLC's to support these high growth opportunities. This, coupled with the fact that most are customer funded, shows that customers have great faith in the Gemfire technology and operations capability," Bob Press, the VP Sales and Marketing for Gemfire stated.
