Nokia Siemens Networks is aiming to raise around €700 million (US$931 million) on the bonds market, according to a report in the Financial Times (subscription required). There's January gloom a-plenty at Telefónica Czech Republic A.S., which plans to cut up to 10 percent of its workforce this year as it struggles with fierce competition, reports Reuters. The operator's revenue dropped by 3.8 percent in the third quarter of 2012.
The launch of smartphones from Telefónica running Mozilla's Firefox operating system is moving a step closer with a series of developer events, or "Meetups," in major European cities over the coming days, as Spanish newspaper Cinco Diasreports. Nokia is releasing design files that will allow owners of its Lumia smartphone to "print" their own customized cases for the handset, reports the BBC. That's assuming the Lumia owner has easy access to a top-of-the-range 3-D printer, of course.
