DUBLIN -- UBIqube, the leading next generation network and service Orchestration vendor, announced today the selection of its MSActivator™ Framework by the Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) for its Lifecycle Service Orchestration development project.

ETRI is a non-profit research organization with a 25-year history of being at the forefront of advanced and emerging technologies in the telecommunications industry and a leading innovation force in the Korean industrial ecosystem. The research institute has successfully developed information technologies such as TDX-Exchange, High Density Semiconductor Microchips, Mini-Super Computer (TiCOM), and Digital Mobile Telecommunication System (CDMA).

As part of its R&D on Cloud service orchestration, ETRI has chosen the MSActivator Framework as the backbone of its next generation service orchestrator for its agility in onboarding new vendors and its DevOps-ready structure. ETRI engineers will be empowered to expand the scope of the Orchestration platform as they go while aligning with ETSI MANO specification on the mater. A service mashup interface should enable an operator to design services "on the fly", hence dramatically changing the new service lead time while breaking the vendor lock-in often seen in networking and security services.

Bhum-Cheol Lee, Director, Network Computing Convergence Research Section of ETRI comments: "UBIqube's commercial production experience with world's top carriers in the NFV space and its unique capability of handling standardized as well as non-standardized devices would bring a great value to Korean and Global telecom markets. ETRI's development effort for Distributed Cloud OS and Multi-domain MANO will benefit from the collaboration and both parties will co-market the project results in the global market."

Nabil Souli, CEO and Chairman, UBIqube Solutions, comments: "ETRI, in its role as a Korean strategic innovation force, has decided to implement its NFV vision using UBIqube's MSActivator Framework and we are honored to partner with such an organization as they pave the way for the industry."
