The founder, president, and CEO of DSL equipment maker Celite Systems Inc., Roger Dorf, has left his company to take the top job at Navini Networks Inc., a developer of broadband wireless gear, Light Reading has learned.

Dorf was announced as Navini's CEO to company employees on Monday, sources close to the company say. Alastair Westgarth, who is still listed as Navini's president and CEO on the company's Website, still works for Navini, but it's not clear what his role is.

"I can't say anything at this point," Westgarth told Light Reading when reached by phone on Wednesday evening.

Like several of Navini's top brass, Dorf -- not to be confused with Derk Dorf -- has some Nortel Networks Ltd. (NYSE/Toronto: NT) experience in his past. He was the VP and general manager of Nortel's Broadband Access group (formerly Promatory Communications), prior to his stint at Celite.

The executive shuffling at Navini is nothing new. Since the company closed its most recent funding round, its management ranks have been turning over (see Navini Nabs $30M).

A few weeks ago, Bjorn Kirchdorfer, executive VP of commercial operations, and controller Jeffrey Havlock left the company. In their place the company installed Greg Marzullo, as the new VP of global sales, and former Chorum Technologies executive George Simpson as VP of operations (see Headcount: The World Needs People).

And, of course, the flight of Dorf may not spell good news for Celite, which has gone quiet since its last funding announcement in August 2003 (see Celite Scores $10M More). Celite officials could not be reached for comment.
