Re: Coffee
Nope, no tapas! MWC probably has the worst selection of food of any trade show I've been to.

Re: so why is it in Barcelona?
Used to be in Cannes, until it outgrew it. May outgrown Barcelona or at least the single train option soon too.

Re: so why is it in Barcelona?
Yeah its the hotels and transport not the technology. Same reason big US conferences end up in Chicago and Las Vegas rather than Silicon Valley.

Re: It's peeeeeepul!
I pranged my dad's car when I was 17 - but it had nothing to do with mind-altering substances.

Re: Coffee
Sarah,

"Yeah, but then I tried it and remembered I don't like coffee, so I got a tea instead. True story."

I had to rate your comment as the funniest comment of the month. :D I was sipping my own tea here, and it almost ended up all over my desk.

so why is it in Barcelona?
Is it simply a place where they happen to have big hotels and convention centers? I hadn't really heard of Spain being a hotbed of mobile development. I mean, why Barcelona and not Germany?

Re: It's peeeeeepul!
I had to look up "pranged" as well. Shouldn't it have been the caption for the Nokia pictures instead?

For those innocent, unaware minds, pranged, from Urban Dictionary:
to be intoxicated, often by mind altering drugs.
"dude last night I was totally pranged - I became the lamp, I was the light... yeah...."

Re slide 2: "Was that a squirrel I just hit?" "No, looks more like a dog on the heat sensor map. Or maybe a large cat." "I hope it was a stray."

A CSP's digital transformation involves so much more than technology. Crucial – and often most challenging – is the cultural transformation that goes along with it. As Sigma's Chief Technology Officer, Catherine Michel has extensive experience with technology as she leads the company's entire product portfolio and strategy. But she's also no stranger to merging technology and culture, having taken a company — Tribold — from inception to acquisition (by Sigma in 2013), and she continues to advise service providers on how to drive their own transformations. This impressive female leader and vocal advocate for other women in the industry will join Women in Comms for a live radio show to discuss all things digital transformation, including the cultural transformation that goes along with it.
