MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Telco Systems, a BATM company (LSE: BVC, TASE: BATM), is a leading provider of innovative SDN & NFV and CE 2.0 multi-service Carrier Ethernet and MPLS edge access solutions for mobile backhaul, business Ethernet services and cloud networking. The company announced today that it has been selected by a tier 1 mobile network operator in APAC as part of its large-scale network modernization that will deliver 4G/LTE services to an expanding subscriber base. In order to cope with the data traffic surge and to be able to launch new data services, the tier 1 mobile operator is simultaneously increasing coverage while rolling out an advanced 4G/LTE network. The backhaul network is being substantially expanded to cope with the increasing traffic while supporting current and future use.

As part of the $2M deal, the mobile operator will deploy Telco Systems’ T-Marc 3208SH advanced mobile backhaul demarcation device that will participate in a multi-vendor backhaul solution. The temperature-hardened device backhauls traffic from multiple 2G, 3G and 4G cell sites over Carrier Ethernet. Its large port density, flexible ports distribution, and LAG capabilities enable the mobile operator expanding the major transport trunks to accommodate the network expansion. The T-Marc 3208SH keeps 4G/LTE base stations in sync by providing a comprehensive set of synchronization options including synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and IEEE 1588v2. As LTE/L4 deployments proliferate, simplifying network management is becoming a critical issue for mobile operators. The T-Marc 33208SH’s support of NETCONF and YANG, in parallel with SNMP and CLI- based management, enables the mobile operator to evolve gradually into the SDN.
