SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Cohere Technologies (www.cohere-technologies.com), a pioneer in wireless connectivity, today announced $35 million investment in Series C funding led by Telstra along with existing investors New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Lightspeed Ventures, and new investors Macquarie Capital and AME Cloud Ventures. The investment will fund scaling of the company to bring its new modulation, Orthogonal Time Frequency and Space (OTFS™), to market in response for the growing demands for higher capacity and coverage in wireless networks.

“We are excited to be starting this new relationship with Cohere and the opportunity to benefit from their new OTFS modulation,” said Mike Wright, Telstra Group Managing Director Networks.

“In the coming months we will be commencing a number of trials to test these capabilities and how they can be integrated into the Telstra network. We already have strong backhaul and access networks and anticipate that by working with Cohere we can improve this further as we move into a highly connected future and a 5G world.”

Cohere Technologies has developed OTFS, a patented new modulation that promises to address the most critical issues facing wireless communications today – Capacity, Coverage and Cost. This new modulation has applications for wireless backhaul, fixed wireless access and the future of 5G. This technology will position Cohere Technologies to revolutionize outdoor and indoor wireless communications.
