DALLAS -- Airband Communications, the largest fixed wireless service provider for U.S. businesses, today announced that the company is accelerating its deployment of pre-WiMAX equipment across its network due to its early success with the technology in new markets. The company is also upgrading base station backhaul connectivity to licensed wireless circuits to stay ahead of market demand.

Together, these initiatives will increase both network capacity and service reliability, enabling Airband to deliver a broader portfolio of services, including Voice over IP, disaster recovery, security and video conferencing, over its wireless network. Airband will also dramatically improve its ability to respond to customer needs by eliminating its reliance on third parties to deliver service.

“This effort will take our network to the next level, enabling us to deliver more bandwidth and more services to customers across greater distances,” said Mark Spagnolo, Airband president and CEO. “The accelerated timeframe is a direct result of the widespread demand from our customers for faster installations, increased scalability and the simplicity of managing all of their services over one connection.”
