Still hard to say when cable operators will start to take advantage of the additional capacities supported by these devices, though they will offer some future-proofing as operators look to offer D3 tiers beyond the range of 100Mbit/s and 200Mbit/s in the downstream. Most operators have a hard enough time freeing up space for the bonding of 8 downstream channels.

But this will also open up the potential  for MSos to offer managed IP video services. One operator i'll be keeping a close eye on here is Rogers in Canada... they have a big IP video migraton project underway and I could see these new 24-channel D3 devices playing a role there. JB
