What about UK Broadband (PCCW sub)?  Apparently, they already have LTE in a few places. Any idea on what spectrum they have, etc.?

This is the chance BT has been waiting for -- and it has the supporting infrastructure in place already.

But if it does get some spectrum, what will BT do with it? Become another 'me too' mobile service provider? In the UK, already so cut-throat, that doesn't seem like a worthwhile tactic...

Harmonizing on 800MHz could certainly make international roaming easier for some.

Interesting. Was expecting someone like Virgin to step up. Don't see why BT shouldn't do it. After all, DTAG does both fixed and mobile.

Should BT get back into the mobile business? LTE could perhaps complement its Wi-Fi service offerings. It already has a joint LTE trial going on with EE in Cornwall:

BT said it can't comment on whether it has sumbitted an application or not when we asked today.
