Hi all,

Coming back to news itself.

Here is an IETF draft proposed by ALU in NVO3 group:

Thanks to Seeking Alpha for mentioning the Nuage story.

I've been pronouncing it more like "nwaajj" in my head, fwiw.  The new-age/newage variations are pretty funny, though.  We always appreciate making fun of a startup's name.  :)

The common fruit fly happens to be the rockstar of evolutionary biology.

Even better than sewage! From the first hit:

Nuage is a specific term for Drosophila melanogaster germline granules. Nuage are the hallmark of Drosophila melanogaster germline cells, which have an electron-dense perinuclear structure and can silence the selfish genetic elements in Drosophila melanogaster.

And as I'm sure you're all well-aware:  Drosophila is the common fruit-fly.

I assume that it should be pronounced like "nuance", since this word also comes from the French.

Inquiring minds could have tried to find sites with pronounciation recorded. Here is what I found in 30 sec:

Stevery, "new-age" is best pronounced "newage", as in sewage.

I'm not sure how the name Nuage will be pronounced by anglophones, though.  The French pronunciation is nice, but either of the ones you mentioned is more probable.

A pronounciation guideline might be handy for the English-speaking readers.

Is that "Nuage" pronounced like "New-Age"?  Or does "Nuage" rhyme with "sewage"?

Inquiring minds do not want to be held in suspense.

Hadn't seen the IETF evidence but yeah, that would be a pretty big giveaway. And the "Nuage" name is quite a hint, too.

This wasn't all that difficult to figure out.  Some of the bigger technical names in their IPD division who are active in the IETF are now suddenly working for "Nuage" and their names are tied to some of the newer NVO3 SDN drafts...
