Thanks. This bit is interesting for me as I've recently done a few cost models for IPSec deployment :) BUt like you say, more info would be good, e.g. all macro sites?, percentage of small cells, etc.

The idle time/signalling bit is also interesting. Having not come across this before, I wonder if it's specific to 1800MHz? As in the UEs themselves?

Hi macster,

A source from EE tells me that they have deployed IPSec everywhere.

So there's another little piece of the puzzle... still looking for more.

Hi Michelle,

There are a few deployment models, e.g. 100%, deploying IPSec on key/vunerable sites, etc. Would be interesting to know how they did it and as you mentioned, the difficulties cited by Hanif.

Good question, but I don't know the answer, sorry to say. I've asked to follow up with EE about what Hanif presented at the conference and will hopefully get more details.

Would they be able to deploy IPSec only on some of their sites?

Hi,

Do you know if they did 100% IPSec? Or a subset of sites?

Really interesting comments about IPSec and signalling here. I'd like to know more about what made the IPSec deployment so difficult and what balance EE struck between battery life and signalling load.

Also, what did EE have to do to get the device makers on board with 1800MHz?
