all other suppliers of fiber-to-the-home equipment, optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, have not announced any contracts, contracts whose existence is neither being confirmed nor denied due to confidentiality requirements of the customers.
these other supplier of advanced PLC based components will therefore be unable to announce the enablance of state-of-the-art next generation networks and henceforth are all changing their corporate names to 'unnablence'.
since ftth is expected to reach over 100 million subscribers by 2010, it is suspected that multiple development projects must have reached successful completion. given that enablance has just now announced in clear terms its intention of entering this market, one assumes that 'unnablence' suppliers are already long-term suppliers of plc based products to mulitple global telecom systems vendors. a close read of quarterly financial reports of unnablance provides some semblance of proof to this theory. it is not yet clear why 'unnablance' suppliers are not releasing highly specific press releases which their customers abhor.
