Until now, industry discussion of broadband has tended to focus on the network required to support the applications: Is it passive or active? Ethernet or IP? Fiber or copper? Wireless or wired? And so on. The problem with this approach is that it puts the network cart before the applications horse – the really interesting and important element of broadband service is the ways in which people will use it, not the network that it runs over. In this LRTV documentary, we reverse the polarity on this debate, focusing on the applications and how they are influencing the development of the broadband market.
