OVERVIEW
The mobile network is becoming increasingly vulnerable to many of the security attacks that plague wireline ISPs, as well as some new ones that are unique to the mobile environment. Detecting and mitigating those threats is a major new challenge of the mobile broadband era. Whether it be via the cloud or the terminal, or in the mobile network infrastructure itself, mobile operators are ultimately responsible for working with industry partners to protect the network and the end user from debilitating security attacks. This unique Light Reading conference, the first of its kind, will focus on the mobile network security challenge from the perspective of mobile carriers delivering 2G, 3G and 4G mobile services in North America. It will consider and debate the organizational, regulatory, business and technology challenges that mobile operators increasingly need to meet in the area of network security, as well as the extent to which investment in security can realistically be considered as a revenue opportunity rather than just a cost.
