Steve Necessary, VP Video Product Development & Support, Cox Communications
Steve leads Cox's overall video product strategy and oversees the conception, development, and deployment of new video products and enhancements to fuel Cox's growth in the video market. Prior to joining Cox in January 2005, he served as President of the Video on Demand Division of Concurrent Computer Corp. Previously, Steve spent more than 20 years with Scientific Atlanta and held several senior management positions in marketing and general management before becoming CEO of that company's PowerTV software subsidiary. He is a member of CTAM and the SCTE and is on the board of directors for Christians in Cable.

Arthur Orduña, Chief Technology Officer, Canoe Ventures
Arthur Orduña is driving the creation of shared processes and standards for more robust audience targeting, interactivity, and measurement in multi-platform advertising on cable operators’ systems. With more than 20 years experience in the media and interactive TV industries, he is credited with developing critical initiatives with standards bodies, industry organizations, and providers and is a long-time proponent of open standards-based initiatives and other cross-MSO projects to advance cable advertising technologies. Orduña is an active member of SCTE, NCTA, and currently the chair of a CableLabs Working Group that helped develop the EBIF technical specification. He also is a member of NAMIC and CTAM, from which he received a Rainmaker Award in 2005.

Michael Adams, VP Application Software Strategy, TANDBERG Television, Part of the Ericsson Group
Mr. Adams is responsible for overseeing application software strategy for all software products globally. Before joining TANDBERG he served as VP of Video Architecture and Technology at Terayon Communications Systems. He has also held senior positions at AOL, Road Runner, and Time Warner Cable. Mr. Adams is the author of OpenCable Architecture (Cisco Press, December 1999), which received the Cable Museum 2001 Book Award. He is the co-author of Modern Cable Television Technology (Morgan Kaufmann, October 2003). He has been granted eight patents in the digital video technology area and is a senior member of the SCTE and a senior member of the IEEE.

William C. Brown, Editor, SCTE Drafting Group
Corey Brown is a software engineer with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He currently works for TANDBERG
Television where he is responsible for the design and implementation of advanced advertising solutions for the cable industry. Before joining TANDBERG Television, Corey designed and implemented network management systems for Movaz networks and fast automated network restoration systems for AT&T. He is the primary author of parts 4 and 7 of the SCTE 130 advanced advertising specification.

Bryan Burns, VP Strategic Business Planning & Development, ESPN
With ESPN since 1996, Bryan Burns currently serves as the head of the company’s high-definition services, ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD, and is also charged with directing the growth of HD telecasts within ABC Sports programming. He has been responsible for a wide variety of ESPN’s video products, including ESPN Game Plan, ESPN Full Court, and ESPN Shootout. He also designed ESPN Today, ESPN Now, and ESPN Extra, interactive channels that are designed for digital cable and direct broadcast satellite. Burns came to ESPN from The Paragon Alliance, a consulting firm he founded in 1992, after 16 years in professional sports team management, including seven years as Senior VP of Major League Baseball.

Paul Delzio, Director of Business Development, ARRIS
Focused on advanced advertising solutions and services, Paul is the key participant in the development of the company's advertising technologies and solutions. He is responsible for the identification and pursuit of new addressable advertising business opportunities for the global television industry, whether through internal development, mergers, acquisitions, investments, alliances, and/or joint ventures. Prior to joining ARRIS, he was Director of Business Development at BigBand Networks. Prior to BigBand, Paul was Director of Sales and Business Development for RealNetworks. During his seven years there, he expanded market penetration in the enterprise, ISP, CDN, and cable industries. He has also held key management roles with Silicon Graphics and IBM.

Vince Groff, Executive Director, Corporate Development, Cox Communications
Vince Groff has responsibility for leading corporate development in support of all Cox products and services. Key activities include establishing partnerships to meet business objectives, assessing new business opportunities outside Cox's core product lines, and managing Cox's investment portfolio. He also spends time understanding the business impact of emerging technologies and business models, and works closely with the venture capital and startup communities. Previously, Vince led Cox's interactive television product development efforts and has been active in several CableLabs initiatives including OpenCable and the Security, Monitoring, and Automation project. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Duke University.

Joseph Jensen, Executive VP & CTO, Buckeye CableSystem
In 1996, Joe joined Buckeye, where he serves in dual capacities. In addition to his role as cable CTO, he also functions as president of the competitive local exchange carrier, Buckeye TeleSystem. Joe is also Vice President – Telecommunications for Block Communications, Buckeye's parent company. Prior to his current position, Joe was Director – Data, Access and Transport Systems for Ameritech, where he was involved in technology planning and product development for voice, data, and video products. Previously, he has served as Manager of Systems Engineering for the Network Systems Division at Rockwell International and as Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Gil Katz, Senior Director of Cable Solutions, Harmonic
Gil Katz works with MSOs to define and implement next-generation architectures for on-demand services. For the past five years, he has worked on development of video-on-demand products and solutions including Harmonic's market-leading Narrowcast Services Gateway. An experienced speaker, he has presented at many conferences throughout the world. Mr. Katz has served as a member of the DVB-Simulcrypt standards committee, and is a graduate of the Technion Institute of Technology with a degree in computer engineering.

David King joined Concurrent in 2008 and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s corporate strategy, global market development, professional services, and strategic alliances. Prior to joining Concurrent, Mr. King served as vice president of global marketing for NEC, where he oversaw all global marketing and public relations activities. Mr. King was also responsible for global product and application portfolio strategy, and was instrumental in developing strategic partnerships with Cisco and Microsoft. Prior to joining NEC, Mr. King served as vice president of marketing for Movaz Networks and as vice president of global solutions for Nortel Networks.

Rebecca R. Lim, Senior Director, Advanced Services, Starz Entertainment
Rebecca is responsible for Starz Entertainment’s interactive television initiatives. She leads the user interface strategy for on-demand broadband services, including Starz Play, and led the Starz team in the first satellite transmission of an OpenCable Applications Platform tru2way broadcast and the recently announced Enteract Now EBIF iTV application development. Rebecca has worked for more than 25 years in the media industry and is active in the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the CTAM On Demand Consortium, and the CableLabs Enhanced TV Programmers Group. She was honored with the Woman of Technology 2005 Award from Rocky Mountain WICT and was named by CableWorld as one of the Top 50 Women in Technology 2006.

Rick Loechler, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Motorola Broadband Home Solutions
Rick Loechler oversees the rollout and implementation of the tru2way/OCAP software platform for Motorola’s cable set-top portfolio. He develops feature requirements, manages partner relationships, and drives new product introduction plans. Loechler has more than 20 years of experience in development engineering and product management with software products. Prior to joining Motorola, Loechler was a product manager at Unisys Corp., with responsibility for systems management software delivered with Unisys Windows-based enterprise servers. Loechler also spent time at Moore Products Co., where he held software engineering and product-marketing roles for the company’s family of industrial automation equipment.

John R. Mick Jr., Editor, SCTE Drafting Group
John is the software architect and lead developer heading the Cisco Personalization and Advertising Transaction Hub (PATH) product development team. An engineer with more than 25 years of achievement in broadband, digital video, conditional access, and networking equipment, his experience includes MPEG-2 data encapsulation and re-multiplexing equipment, IP routing and support software, and digital set-top boxes. He is co-author of Data Broadcasting: Understanding the ATSC Data Broadcasting Standard (McGraw-Hill). Prior to Cisco, John contributed significantly to the Microsoft Mediaroom Acquisition Server product development, was the Director of Software at IDT, and a senior software engineer at Skystream, C-Cube, and Divicom. He is the primary editor for SCTE 130 Part 2 (Core) and Part 3 (ADM/ADS).

Craig Moffett, Vice President & Senior Analyst, Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.
Craig E. Moffett joined Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. as Senior Analyst for U.S. Cable and Satellite Broadcasting in 2002. He was recently voted the No. 1 cable and satellite analyst in America in Institutional Investor's All-America Research poll for 2008, the third consecutive year he earned that title. He added coverage of the U.S. telecommunications sector in 2007, and was voted runner up in that sector in Institutional Investor's 2008 poll as well. Mr. Moffett spent 11 years at The Boston Consulting Group, where he led the firm's global practice in telecommunications. Most recently, he was President of Sothebys.com, which he led to the highest first-year sales of any consumer Website ever launched.

Ken Morse, CTO, Service Provider Video Technology Group, Cisco
Ken began his career at Scientific Atlanta in 1994 as co-founder and CTO of the PowerTV business. Ken was named Vice President, Client Architecture in 2003. In these roles, Ken has been influential in helping customers, shareholders, industry leaders, and the investment community understand our products and strategy. Previously to PowerTV, Ken co-founded three companies in the areas of digital signal processing, duplication and encryption technologies for commercial software systems, and digital video capture and compression. Ken is currently tasked with driving continued video product and technical leadership within and outside of Cisco.

David Porter, VP Strategy & Business Development, Cox Media
David is responsible for developing alternative revenue sources in support of Cox Media’s ad sales business. This includes analysis of market trends and competitive initiatives, development of product business cases, preliminary market tests, and consumer behavior analysis, as well as product development, rollout, and ongoing production support. He is also responsible for driving industry collaboration through consortia and joint ventures to foster uniformity of digital advertising. David participated in the development of Cox Media’s FreeZone, a free VoD channel dedicated to advertisers. He is also involved in development of the Cox Interactive Television and Enhanced Advertising initiatives and serves on the Cox Communication Privacy Advisory Board.

John Reister, Chief IPTV Architect, BigBand Networks
John Reister is shaping BigBand Networks' IPTV solution. Prior to joining the company, he was Chief Technology Officer with Copper Mountain Networks, a leading DSL access platform vendor. While there, he managed video distribution and regulatory strategy, and developed several new technologies. John has also held positions at Bain & Company and Sun Microsystems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University. He also has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Howard Rubin, Senior Product Marketing Manager, SeaChange International
Howard Rubin is deeply entrenched with SeaChange International’s next-generation on-demand software technologies, server systems, and personalized applications, which will help facilitate the future of television entertainment by connecting consumers to content. His primary responsibilities include showcasing SeaChange’s newest software solutions to worldwide cable and telco operators, product marketing, market analysis, and planning. He is a high-tech product champion with over 20 years’ expertise promoting services and solutions for the service provider, networking, and Internet security industries. Prior to SeaChange he was Senior Product Marketing Manager for BigBand’s Cable IP business, and before that, he was a Senior Product Manager at 3Com and Director of Product Management and Marketing at SimpleAccess.

Bryan Santangelo, Chairman, SCTE Ad-Hoc Drafting Group
Bryan Santangelo is a Principal Architect at Time Warner Cable's Advanced Technology Group in charge of advancing TWC’s cross-platform advertising technology. He is an industry veteran, having made contributions in a variety of video delivery spaces including linear broadcast, video on-demand, and content propagation/distribution. Mr. Santangelo previously worked on Time Warner Cable’s award winning "Start Over" platform. He currently chairs the SCTE 130 ad-hoc working group and is actively engaged with several industry standards bodies.

Bill Sheahan, Director, Advanced Advertising, Comcast Spotlight
Comcast Spotlight is the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable. Bill Sheahan holds product management responsibility for advanced advertising products and specifically for addressable advertising. He guides and facilitates the addressable product strategy and roadmap, including product development, integration, and stewardship. Bill has 20 years direct marketing experience, most recently with Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing as VP and Group Account Director for Automotive and Retail clients. His cross-industry work includes deep financial services and MSO marketing experience, contributing to Comcast, DirecTV, and Dish Network brands. He holds a degree in finance from Villanova University and is a member of CTAM.

Jeffrey Sherwin, Editor, SCTE Drafting Group
Jeffrey Sherwin is the founder and president of This Technology, a provider of dynamic metadata and advanced advertising supply management software for digital television. He provides the product vision for MetaMore and SpotBuilder, critical software components that both unlock and expand the advertising business that the video infrastructure is now capable of creating. Prior to founding This Technology, Sherwin was a co-founder and managing director of technology at Cauldron Solutions (now Anystream Media), where he was responsible for the technical strategy and architecture behind the company's product line and vision. Prior to Cauldron, he worked as a consultant, systems architect, and financial software developer on Wall Street.

P. Margit Tritt, Senior Product Manager, EchoStar
P. Margit Tritt spearheaded EchoStar's signing of the tru2way Agreement in August 2008. She's focused on development and sales of EchoStar’s SlingLoaded tru2way T2200S Set Top Box for the cable industry. Prior to EchoStar, she was a Director in the CableLabs OpenCable Group, where her duties included managing the Host 2.1 specification development for tru2way. Ms. Tritt, certified PMP, holds a Master's of Engineering Management from the University of Colorado and a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science. She is an avid scuba diver and active in CTAM, WICT, SCTE, and PMI.

Kevin Walsh, Director of Consulting Systems Engineering, Juniper Networks
Mr. Walsh is focused on Network Access Control technology at Juniper Networks and works extensively with customers worldwide, to guide their technical planning and implementation of Juniper’s Identity and Policy solutions. He was actively involved in defining Juniper's industry-leading AAA/802.1X products, including Steel-Belted Radius. He has been instrumental in understanding customer requirements in the service provider, enterprise, and wireless markets, implementing these products on customer networks around the world and managing custom development work in the Radius/AAA arena.

Mara Winokur, VP Digital Media & Business Development, Starz Media
Mara Winokur is responsible for overseeing the digital, long-form transactional, and subscription businesses for Starz Media. Her primary duties include partner strategy, deal generation and evaluation, and contract negotiation and execution, as well as ongoing management of online video retailer partner affiliates. She distributes and markets various forms of long-form content ranging from theatrical features to other video assets from several of Starz’ business units and handles operational activities for the Starz Media digital team. Prior to joining Starz, Winokur was a Director of Business Development at EMI Music Entertainment and Sony BMG. She has also worked for McGraw-Hill and Palm, and has consulted with several Silicon Valley companies.

Paul Woidke, Chairman, SCTE DPI Working Group
Paul joined OpenTV in May 2008. He is charged with evolving OpenTV's advanced advertising business in the U.S. and internationally. He brings with him more than 30 years of cable and broadcast experience, most recently with Comcast Spotlight. During his six years there he was charged with creating technology standards and best practices across the company's footprint in more than 90 markets. Paul has served on various industry committees and chairs the SCTE Digital Video Subcommittee's Working Group Five, which has played a leading role in the development of international digital program and advertising insertion standards. He is the recipient of the 2006 SCTE Excellence in Standards Award.
