Jeff Baumgartner, Site Editor, Cable Digital News is a 15-year veteran of the cable technology industry. Before joining Light Reading as CDN site editor in April 2007, Jeff served as editor-in-chief of Communications Engineering & Design (CED) Magazine, where he was responsible for its day-to-day and long-term editorial direction, as well as its wide range of electronic and ancillary print products. Previously, he was broadband editor of Multichannel News and covered emerging technologies for CED. Early in his business journalism career, Jeff served as Denver bureau chief of CableFAX Daily. He also produced corporate communications for Jones Education Networks and coordinated trade industry reporting for the Starz Encore Media Group.
Alan Breznick, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading has tracked the media, telecommunications, broadband, and consumer electronics industries for more than 20 years. Before switching over to Heavy Reading in April 2007, he was the editor of Light Reading's Cable Digital News Website and author of Light Reading's Cable Industry Insider. At Heavy Reading, he primarily focuses on cable services, technologies, and networks, as well as IPTV infrastructure. Alan was formerly a broadband analyst for Kinetic Strategies and a contributing analyst for One Touch Intelligence and the Consumer Electronics Association. He previously reported for Communications Daily, Cable World, Multichannel News, Broadband Daily, Communications Technology, Crain's New York Business, and Genuine Article Press.
Craig Leddy, Contributing Analyst, Light Reading Cable Industry Insider is a veteran cable industry writer, speaker and market analyst. Based outside New York City, Leddy founded Interactive TV Works Inc. to promote understanding and drive deployment of advanced video services. He teaches the highly popular "How Cable Goes to Market" industry courses and serves as editor of the Tru2way Guide web site, www.ctam.com/tru2way. Leddy is a former editor of Cablevision Magazine, senior market analyst for The Myers Group, news editor of Television Week, and contributing editor for Multichannel News. Through strategic consulting, Leddy has helped dozens of major companies to gain a better understanding of digital media opportunities.
Derek Medlin, Senior Analyst, Pyramid Research Derek is a part of Pyramid Research’s global research team and brings extensive experience tracking market transitions and forecasting their impact on subscriptions and usage. He has worked on a variety of consulting projects advising telecom operators on industry transformation issues and analyzing business models around messaging and Internet-based products. He has also authored a variety of reports, including an analysis of IPTV opportunities around the world and an assessment of global mobile video strategies. Prior to joining Pyramid, Derek worked as consultant in Ernst & Young where he contributed to projects in the area of infrastructure, energy, and mining.
