Stan Hubbard, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading

A communications professional with extensive experience in wireline-related business analysis and strategic marketing, Stan spent seven years with Ciena Corp. – most recently as Director of Market Intelligence – prior to joining Heavy Reading. During his tenure with Ciena, he led the analyst team conducting industry, customer, and competitive analysis and managed the company's industry analyst relations program. His current focus is on Ethernet, optical, and other wireline technologies.

Patrick Donegan, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading

The author of the Heavy Reading report, "Backhaul Strategies for Mobile Operators," Patrick is currently working with several clients developing strategies for Ethernet backhaul in mobile networks. He has been a telecom market journalist, analyst, and strategist for 15 years. He joined Heavy Reading from Nortel, where he spent five years as a senior manager of strategic planning for wireless business – spanning GSM, CDMA, UMTS, WiMax, and other wireless technologies. Prior to Nortel, he spent two years in business research for Motorola's Corporate Strategy Office in EMEA and two years as a wireless analyst for the Yankee Group. As a journalist, Donegan was deputy editor of Public Network Europe from 1990 to 1995 and editor of Mobile Communications International from 1995 to 1997.
Sterling Perrin, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading

Sterling joins Heavy Reading from IDC, where he served for five years as lead optical networks analyst. He has broad experience in providing quantitative and technological assessments of emerging markets such as WDM, metro, and IP-to-optical integration. Prior to IDC, he worked for Standard & Poor's, where he delivered global industry analysis on a range of IT segments. He is a former journalist and editor at Telecommunications Magazine and has also done consulting work for the research firm, Current Analysis.
Simon Sherrington, Independent Analyst, Light Reading

Simon Sherrington is an independent analyst with 14 years experience analyzing, reporting, and consulting on technology market trends. He is the founder of his own research and consulting company, Innovation Observatory, and previously headed up a business unit within U.K.-based telecom-focused research company Analysys Research, delivering customized projects for individual clients. Simon has written a number of reports for Light Reading looking at technologies such as GPON, Ethernet over copper, and PBT. He has also hosted a number of Webinars on behalf of Light Reading, covering topics such as PBB, PBB-TE and MPLS interworking, and service assurance on carrier Ethernet and MPLS networks.
