Formerly CTO of North Region, Bharti Cellular, and now Group CTO of Telemedia, the Bharti Group’s fixed broadband services business, Mr. Halder will provide his outlook on the business case and timescales for broadband service rollout throughout India. In doing so, he will share his insights into the market opportunity for different fixed and wireless broadband access technologies and the extent to which these will be complementary or competitive with one another in different local and regional markets.

    Until recently, IPTV was only discussed in the context of the most developed telecom markets. But why should India be left out? We will discuss the challenges facing operators wanting to deploy IPTV in India and the key success factors, and finally, we will show how a strong partnership between network operator and equipment vendor can make all the difference toward the success of the project.

This session will look at a recent Heavy Reading survey of telco plans for policy tools and evaluate policy.
