SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Lara Networks, Inc. (Lara), the industry leader in high-performance, silicon-based packet processing solutions for the Internet infrastructure market, today introduced the third member of its Network Database Search Engine (NDSE) family, the LNI7040, and the related LNS8015 Reference Design Kit (RDK). At 100 megahertz (MHz), the LNI7040 is the industry’s fastest user-configurable, variable-width search engine accommodating up to 128K entries. The LNS8015 RDK integrates three LNI7040 devices with Lara’s LNI8010 Network Database Coprocessor to enable customers to quickly evaluate and implement high-speed networking designs requiring large policy databases.

“Lara’s ability to provide greater table depths with the LNI7040 NDSE device allows us to realize the performance increase we needed,” noted Earl Ferguson, Chief Technical Officer at Foundry Networks, Inc. “Using Lara’s devices enables us to keep costs down while significantly enhancing overall system performance.”
