Vendor says it sticks to the laws and commercial codes in Austria

Huawei Responds to Austrian Allegations

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has responded to allegations that it was involved in commercial irregularities related to deals struck with Telekom Austria AG (NYSE: TKA; Vienna: TKA). (See Telekom Austria Probes Huawei Deals and Huawei Linked to Contract Scandal.)

The Chinese vendor issued this statement to Light Reading by email:

  • We are aware of recent media reports that mention our Austrian subsidiary in connection with a local enterprise that is being investigated by local authorities. We have looked into this matter and confirmed that our operation in Austria strictly adheres to the laws and commercial codes of conduct in Austria. While we have not been contacted by local authorities, we will cooperate fully should they seek our support regarding this matter.
