Huawei Launches Next Generation SingleEPC Solution at MWC

February 26, 2013 |
BARCELONA -- Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology solutions provider, today launched its next generation SingleEPC solution at the 2013 Mobile World Congress. The solution employs ultra-broadband, 6-mode atom-level convergence and a Multi-Service Engine to optimize MBB service experience. It is also built for smooth evolution to a telecom cloud.

The next generation SingleEPC solution offers ultra-broadband advantages and is the only solution to realize 6-mode atom-level convergence to support a convergent PS core for multiple radio access modes, including GPRS, UMTS, LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, CDMA and WiFi. The solution supports the dynamic implementation of traffic models for 6-mode access technologies, and optimizes PS core network resources.

The next generation SingleEPC solution features 64 times signaling overload control. Its biggest innovation is the Multi-Service Engine, the world’s first innovation engine for web and video acceleration optimization integrated directly into the PS core for greater flexibility of deployment. The solution also provides an LTE voice solution, set to be commercialized during 2013. Huawei’s LTE voice solution provides the best voice experience with the lowest setup latency, the clearest HD voice quality, and the most reliable voice connections.

Huawei’s SingleEPC solution has been widely deployed by leading operators worldwide thanks to the technical advantages it offers. In Saudi Arabia during the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, PS traffic has been shown to increase 24 times. A Saudi operator during this time is annually forced to migrate users from other vendor’s PS core onto Huawei’s SingleEPC solution to ensure seamless continuity of data services. This operator has successfully utilized Huawei’s SingleEPC solution for the past eight consecutive years. SingleEPC is becoming a reliable part of every global operator’s long-term strategy.

SingleEPC won an award for “Best LTE Core Network Element” at the 2012 LTE World Summit. Over the past eight consecutive quarters, Huawei has made the most PS shipments of any other vendor.
