BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Home networks that include certified silicon products, interoperable systems and key features such as Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) and Neighboring Domain Interference Mitigation (NDIM) are on show at the HomeGrid Forum booth at this week’s CES International Show in Las Vegas (January 08-11). With a mixture of live demonstrations and lively displays, HomeGrid Forum, the industry alliance driving the development and deployment of G.hn (Gigabit Home Networking), is showcasing its powerful Connected Home vision for hybrid networks. With HomeGrid Forum members Marvell, Metanoia and Sigma Designs showing live demonstrations of interoperability joined with displays from Comtrend, Tangotec and Xingtera, the HomeGrid Forum booth (Booth 21906, South Hall 1, Ground Level) is an important focal point for home networking trends, ideas and designs this year. The displays demonstrate home networks for the distribution of IPTV and multimedia content over existing in-home wires, providing the power, throughput and reach of a wired backbone for the hybrid home network. CES 2013 G.hn demonstrations in the HomeGrid booth are displaying multiple HD streams from each node of the network. With several high definition services running over the network concurrently, the demonstrations set the scene for new high speed, high quality home networking environments that are easy and cost-effective to install. Vendor displays present G.hn-enabled products and designs from different manufacturers and the advanced G.hn features that set it apart from other home networking technologies. These include NDIM – the interference mitigation measures incorporated within the G.hn standard for high-density MDU deployments – and G.hn’s MIMO option that improves robustness and throughput.HomeGrid Forum
