ST. LOUIS -- Graybar, North America's largest distributor of telecommunications, networking and electrical products, is adding Corning Cable Systems to its VIP Fiber assurance program, the company announced today. The VIP Fiber program is the distribution industry's first, independent comprehensive laboratory test for multimode fiber optic cabling systems. VIP Fiber's impartial pass-fail data is designed to identify product failures, allowing Graybar to always offer customers only the best-performing solutions. Corning Cable Systems, a leading Graybar supplier of fiber optic cable, including its LANscape® Solutions, has passed VIP Fiber's rigorous testing and certification procedures, which screen components for their performance and interoperability in advance of installation and deployment. "With the addition of Corning Cable Systems to the VIP Fiber roster of first-in-class suppliers, we can work with our customers to assure them of even greater performance reliability when purchasing and deploying multimode fiber for network offices and industrial facilities," said Dennis DeSousa, senior vice president, Comm./Data Business, Graybar. "Corning Cable Systems' leadership in the fiber optics market gives Graybar's VIP Fiber program an even better competitive edge during this period of market growth - raising the bar for performance in providing cabling solutions for our customers deploying high-speed fiber networks," DeSousa added. A CSP's digital transformation involves so much more than technology. Crucial – and often most challenging – is the cultural transformation that goes along with it. As Sigma's Chief Technology Officer, Catherine Michel has extensive experience with technology as she leads the company's entire product portfolio and strategy. But she's also no stranger to merging technology and culture, having taken a company — Tribold — from inception to acquisition (by Sigma in 2013), and she continues to advise service providers on how to drive their own transformations. This impressive female leader and vocal advocate for other women in the industry will join Women in Comms for a live radio show to discuss all things digital transformation, including the cultural transformation that goes along with it.
