11:10 AM -- At Globalcomm 2006 in Chicago this week, it was hard not to be distracted by the fact that right next door, they were having the ALL CANDY EXPO.

Needless to say, that tradeshow had an entirely different flavor:Meanwhile, back at the Light Reading booth, the most common question was: "What's with the monkey?"

Unfortunately, I am not authorized to speak on Larry's behalf.

What I do know is that several people tried to abduct Larry from our booth.

According to my source, a Light Reading marketing employee: "A man came up and asked, can I have this? After I told him 'no' he proceeded to the opposite side of the booth and tried to simply walk off with another monkey under his arm. That's when the team caught him and had to explain WE AREN'T GIVING THEM AWAY!"

Monkey maurauding. How frightening.
