NEW ORLEANS -- SCTE Cable-Tec Expo -- About 8,200 cable folks were in town for last week's three-day cable technology confab, down from the 9,000 who showed up at last year's snow-infested gathering in Denver. (See SCTE Cable-Tec Expo Draws 8,200.)

But those who did make the trip to the Big Easy were treated to a fresh look at cable's technology agenda, which is now firmly fixed with strategies involving IPTV migrations, TV Everywhere, and the promise of bandwidth-efficient, video-optimized content distribution networks (CDNs). (See Cable Show 2010: The Hot List.)
