Ex-Rogers Exec Joins S3 Board

DUBLIN -- S3 Group, a multinational technology company providing products, solutions and professional services to the Digital TV, Telehealth and Semiconductor industries, today announced that Dermot O’Carroll has joined its Board of Directors. Mr. O’Carroll is a telecommunications industry veteran with over 40 years’ experience in the industry, the past 17 of which were spent in various senior roles within Rogers Communications.

Mr. O’Carroll spent the past 17 years at Rogers Communications and as Senior Vice President of Network Engineering and Operations was responsible for technology, planning, engineering and operations of the company’s cable and wireless access networks and for the integrated IP and transport networks. He oversaw the rebuild of the entire cable network and the introduction of new technologies such as Internet over cable, interactive digital television, VOD, digital phone service using PacketCable architecture and switched digital video. Prior to joining Rogers, O’Carroll worked with Unitel Communications and Bell Canada.
