SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR - News) today announced that one of Argentina's largest telecommunications service providers, Telefonica Argentina, has deployed the E- and M-series routing platforms in its new IP backbone and access networks. The platforms will allow the company to offer high-quality, value-added services to business and residential consumers throughout Argentina.

"I am pleased to announce that Telefonica Argentina has chosen Juniper Networks technology for this phase of our backbone and access network expansion," said Ernesto Castano, Director of Network Planning, Telefonica Argentina. "One of the key challenges we faced was providing a rich suite of services to our customers with an easy-to-use interface. This new solution means Telefonica Argentina's customers will enjoy reliable, high-performance IP services." Telefonica Argentina, a subsidiary of Spain's Telefonica Group, selected the E- and M-series to strengthen their position in the market by building a strong portfolio of value-added services for their customers. The unique per-service and per-subscriber Quality of Service functionality on the E- and M-series will enable Telefonica to introduce a range of new services, each with the appropriate service metrics -- driving the revenue and service growth that is key to the company's ongoing success.

Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Routers and M-series multiservice routing platforms together deliver a comprehensive portfolio of advanced features that uniquely combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, security and performance. Both platforms are deployed in the world's largest networks and consistently support a wide range of advanced service offerings, including video on demand, VoIP and online gaming.

"A key player in the Argentine telecommunications market, Telefonica Argentina has chosen Juniper Networks to expand its IP infrastructure because they enable new revenue-generating services while delivering industry-leading performance and reliability," said Tim Lambie, vice president, Americas International for Juniper Networks. "In an increasingly competitive market, Juniper Networks infrastructure gives growing service providers like Telefonica Argentina a competitive edge by providing an open, customized and agile infrastructure that can rapidly accommodate new and changing service requirements."
