Rise & Shine

11:25 AM -- Hello, readers.

Today we're shipping the Light Reading Daily newsletter and the Light Reading Mobile Daily newsletter bright and early at 11:30 a.m. ET. For the past several years both newsletters have shipped at 6 p.m. ET.

Now you can get a 24-hour recap of the latest news headlines, videos, press releases, and commentary even earlier in the day. (By the way, you can sign up for one or both daily newsletters by clicking here. If you're interested in our daily coverage of CTIA Enterprise & Applications 2010, click here.)

We're excited about this change because this new time will give us a better shot at reaching our UK-based readers right before they head for the pub while giving our West Coast audience something to read with their morning coffee.

And, if you haven't noticed already, on the Light Reading Daily you get a section of bonus content called: "Here's What Everyone Else Is Looking At." This sassy feature recaps the most popular stories of the past several days and lets you know what's popular with most of our readers right now.

We hope you like the new, earlier daily newsletter. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

About the Author(s)

Phil Harvey

Editor-in-Chief, Light Reading

Phil Harvey has been a Light Reading writer and editor for more than 18 years combined. He began his second tour as the site's chief editor in April 2020.

His interest in speed and scale means he often covers optical networking and the foundational technologies powering the modern Internet.

Harvey covered networking, Internet infrastructure and dot-com mania in the late 90s for Silicon Valley magazines like UPSIDE and Red Herring before joining Light Reading (for the first time) in late 2000.

After moving to the Republic of Texas, Harvey spent eight years as a contributing tech writer for D CEO magazine, producing columns about tech advances in everything from supercomputing to cellphone recycling.

Harvey is an avid photographer and camera collector – if you accept that compulsive shopping and "collecting" are the same.
