8:25 AM -- Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) officially entered the PC market today. The Finnish mobile phone maker unveiled its first 3G "mini laptop" device today, called the Nokia Booklet 3G, which is based on the Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT)'s Windows operating system. (See Nokia Unveils 3G Netbook.)
The device is powered by Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC)'s Atom processor and boasts 12 hours of battery life. Wireless connectivity options include high-speed packet access (HSPA) and WiFi.
Nokia said that details about market availability and pricing would be announced at Nokia World on September 2.
