Mobile convergence infrastructure startup Kineto Wireless Inc. has replaced its CEO, John O'Connell.

Scott Blaine, previously general manager for Nokia Corp.'s (NYSE: NOK) Network Integrity line of business, is now listed on Kineto's Website as "Interim CEO." Blaine joined the company as vice president and CFO in December 2004 (see Kineto Adds Heads).

No one from the company has yet gotten back to us to explain the circumstances of O'Connell's departure.

Milpitas, Calif.-based Kineto Wireless is a driving force in the effort to standardize 802.11-cellular convergence with its vocal support of the Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) specification (see Convergence Specs Emerge). The firm's main rivals include startups Azaire Networks Inc., BridgePort Networks Inc., and LongBoard Inc.

The firm has so far scored $60 million in venture funding.
