11:50 AM -- GENEVA -- Juniper Networks Inc. (NYSE: JNPR) unveiled its latest Ethernet service routers at the Carrier Ethernet World Forum in Geneva today, and compared its new boxes against those from its edge IP router competitors, "Company A" and "Company C." (See Juniper Expands MX.)

"I wonder who they could be?" joked Manoj Leelanivas, VP of product management at Juniper's Infrastructure Products Group, who was presenting to analysts and journalists.

OK, but if you're going to make comparisons with Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) and Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO), why not include Ericsson AB (Nasdaq: ERIC)'s Redback business too?

Or, to put it another way: If you're talking "A" and "C," what about "E"?"They're off the side of the slide," responded Leelanivas without a moment's hesitation.

How cruel.

Leelanivas continued his alphabetic approach by stating that the new MX240 Ethernet Service Router, designed for the edge of the network, could be used to deliver services to MDUs (multi-dwelling units, yep, got that acronym) and TSBs.

TSBs? What are they? "Tall shiny buildings," apparently. MDUs with windows, then.
